Peter Kalumba Chishala who was fondly referred to as the Professor of Zambian Music, emerged on the Zambian music scene in the mid 1980s. At this time, Zambian music was facing a fierce onslaught from foreign music and PK with his social commentary, kept the Kalindula flame high.
He became well known for his sharp eye in the social fabric of society, churning out a range of hits which made him a household name in Zambia. His social commentary came under his ‘acid’ tongue on hypocritical churchmen, corrupt policemen, immoral and materialistic husbands and even corrupt politicians.
While preserving the richness of tradition, PK through modern music managed to entertain his audience with real life changing themes.
